Rosenberger TelematicsBeacon proximity detection
Stop searching. Every asset in view, even without GPS.
A small beacon on a tool, container or machine. It is detected the moment it passes a scan point, a smartphone or a telematics device, and appears in Commander. No power, no wiring, no manual scanning.
How it works
Attach. Pass by. See it.
Beacon tracking is proximity detection, not GPS. You see where an asset was last detected.
A small, battery-powered beacon is glued or screwed onto any asset.
The R-BEACON app, a scan station or a telematics device detects the beacon nearby, no manual scanning.
Position, history and status appear on one map, alongside all your other assets.

FAQ
Beacon tracking, explained.
Do beacons need power or a SIM card?
No. Beacons are battery-powered and last up to seven years depending on the model. The receiving device provides the connection, a smartphone with the R-BEACON app, a scan station or a telematics device.
How precise is beacon tracking?
Beacon tracking is proximity detection, not GPS. You see where an asset was last detected, for example as it passes a site gate or depot. For unpowered assets that do not transmit continuously, that is exactly the right level.
Can I retrofit existing assets?
Yes. Beacons are simply glued or screwed on, with no modification to the asset and no wiring.
Are beacons suitable for stock-taking?
Yes. With the R-BEACON app you capture all nearby beacons automatically, a stock-take takes minutes instead of hours.
Do beacons track drivers or people?
No. Beacons are used solely to identify and locate assets, never drivers or people.
See beacon tracking in Commander.
30 minutes, no obligation. We show you how beacons put every asset on one map.
