The Toplist of Telematics, and what ten years on it means

The Toplist of Telematics is an independent annual ranking of telematics providers across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Rankings are based on customer feedback, solution quality, and industry standing. Appearing once takes effort. Appearing ten consecutive times is a different category of achievement entirely.

Rosenberger Telematics has now received the Toplist seal for the tenth year in a row. The company attributes this consistency to two things: continuous product development and quality management that does not cut corners when the pressure builds. Both are easy to claim. A decade of independent third-party validation is harder to argue with.

The milestones behind the milestone

Ten years is a long time in telematics. The market has changed. Customer expectations have risen. Technology has moved on. The path from the first Toplist recognition to the tenth ran through a series of decisions that shaped what the company became:

• 2017: The company joined the global Rosenberger Group and transitioned from CEplus GmbH to Rosenberger Telematics GmbH, combining the scale of an international technology group with the agility of a specialist telematics operation.
• 2019: STRABAG SE and other major construction enterprises became customers, validating the platform’s readiness for enterprise-scale deployment.
• 2020: Commander underwent a complete architectural modernisation: new infrastructure, new capabilities, and a foundation built for the decade ahead.
• 2021: The 50,000th device was installed. Half a century of thousands of assets now running on Commander data.
• 2022: On January 19th, over 450 devices were installed in a single 24-hour period, a record that speaks to operational capacity as much as customer demand.

Four Telematics Award wins

Alongside the Toplist recognition, the company has won the Telematics Award, the sector’s leading innovation prize, four times:

• 2012 (M2M Telematics): The “closed fuel chain”, a theft-proof vehicle and machinery refuelling solution that addressed a real operational cost problem with elegant technical precision.
• 2014 (User Award): Selected from over 250 submissions as the most customer-focused solution in the industry. The customer’s experience, not just the technology specification, was the deciding factor.
• 2018 (Driving Telematics): The Lindner OEM tractor platform, a purpose-built Commander integration for agricultural machinery that demonstrated what OEM telematics can look like when done properly.
• 2020 (Construction Industry): Wheel-guided silo sensor technology for accurate container and bin volume measurement, a hardware innovation that feeds directly into Commander’s data layer and gives construction operators a level of material tracking that was not previously possible.
